Do You Know Simple Etiquette Makes Conference Call More Efficient

Conference call is an important relation building tool. A conference call may be from business to business, or business to an employee at home or abroad conducting business, it is important that the conference calling experience should be productive To make this service more efficient, you need to follow certain conference call etiquette.

1. Make sure, there is no surrounding noise when you are on the conference call. This will make sure that you hear and understand everything clearly. It is impossible to concentrate on call if you have a dog barking, Xerox machines running, or people arguing in the background.

2. It is necessary that you use a proper telephone Equipment and make yourself familiar with the operation of the equipment. You should know how to mute the phone, how to switch on and off the speaker phone etc..

3. Agenda - Make sure you read the agenda of the conference call. You know what you expect from the conference call or what information you want to share with others. If you are going to participate with people from other country, make yourself aware of their local time. In essence remain focused o topic.

5. Punctuality - You should log in the call on time irrespective of your role in the conference. Conference call should start at scheduled time.

6. Introductions - Make sure you introduce yourself in the call because it helps in relation building and everybody feels comfortable. If you want to response to somebody's statement, please take her name first.

7. Eating - Do not be casual during conference call. Avoid chewing gum and eating during conference call. If you need to drink, use mute button.
